Pic Post! "Ugly Betty" is back, and we've got pics and spoilers from the first episode!

Like most Ugly Betty fans, I was disappointed when ABC moved the series to the ratings wasteland of Friday night, and perplexed when the network decided to push back the season premiere a week.

If it seems that the odds are stacked against our favorite plucky Latina to survive this season, we can at least look on the bright side! We don't have to choose between it and Southland any more. Thanks, Jay Leno!

If you just can't wait until Friday, 8:00 PM EST, we have some spoilers for the two-hour season premiere below, but be warned ... they're, um, spoilery.

In the first hour, "The Butterfly Effect" Part I, Betty finds that everything is changing as she begins her new job as associate features editor, especially since her boss is her ex-boyfriend, Matt Hartley, who is still unhappy about their breakup. In addition, Betty's new officemate, Megan (Smith Cho), openly resents her, while Marc is constantly undermining her because he felt he was more deserving of the promotion. Meanwhile, without Betty as his assistant, Daniel is adrift, still mourning the loss of his wife, Molly. Betty tries to help Megan out on an assignment and connects with a thoughtful insect jewelry designer, Olivia (Lynn Redgrave), while Justin starts high school and is victimized by bullies-but won't tell his mom, Hilda. Claire Meade is finding that her power struggle at the company has her sitting pretty - for the moment - opposite Wilhemina, who lost her claim to the Meade throne last season. But Willi has perhaps an even bigger problem than job security - she is harboring a secret at home that is driving Marc to distraction.

Ana Ortiz's Daughter Serves as Ugly Betty's Mascot

Just three weeks after giving birth to her first child, daughter Paloma Louise, Ugly Betty star Ana Ortiz was back on set, baby in tow.

"[Paloma]'s like a little Ugly Betty mascot," Ortiz, 38, told PEOPLE at the Fitness Mind, Body, Spirit Games in New York City last week. "Everybody is constantly popping into my room to pick her up or talk to her. She has this whole other family at [the show], and it's great."

During takes, her mother and costar Mark Indelicato's mom watch Paloma, now 3 months old, whose father is Ortiz's husband, musician Noah Lebenzon.

Finagling Feedings

While filming season four of the hit show, the new mom has one on-set item she can't live without – a breast pump. "That's a horrible thing to say, but besides my mother, it's a must-have because if you've got a boob full of milk, you've got to get it done," Ortiz says with a laugh.

The nursing mom will often stop between takes to feed the baby, thanks to the watchful eye of the crew, who take note of Ortiz's expanding bosom as the scene progresses. "The team will be, like, 'Uh, Ana, do you need a break?' And I'll be like, 'What are you guys looking at?!' "

Family First

Ortiz says she appreciates the family-friendly environment created by producer Salma Hayek, who has a daughter of her own, Valentina. "I think she set the bar," Ortiz notes.

Ortiz also finds herself setting a new bar of her own. "It's fashion week ... I used to want to go to this show and do everything," says the actress. "But this year, I want to stay home with my baby and my husband and hang out. It's not better or more mature, just a different perspective for me. And I really like it."
